Southern Cross Property Consultants has been serving religious and non-profit organizations since 2002. Our staff brings a great deal of knowledge and practical experience to all of client projects. Following are the primary team members:
Matthew Boomhower
Matthew is the founder and president of Southern Cross Property Consultants. In addition to managing Southern Cross’ day to day operations, Matthew is an adjunct architecture professor at Woodbury University, San Diego and has previously taught at Newschool of Architecture and the University of Tennessee, School of Architecture.
Prior to founding Southern Cross Property Consultants, Matthew worked for a number of general contracting and design/build firms including Nielsen Dillingham Builders (San Diego), JOSEPH Construction Company (Knoxville, TN), and Bovis (Charlotte, NC). He is a Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) and a previous President of the San Diego Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
Matthew is also a business member of the National Association of Church Business Administrators (NACBA). He is the author of numerous articles and has presented a number of continuing education and professional development seminars and educational programs to various groups. Matthew has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and is a licensed Architect in California.
Bill Moss
Bill Moss is Senior Consultant for Southern Cross Business Administration. Prior to joining Southern Cross he served for over 10 years as the Business Administrator for a large Lutheran church in San Diego. He was responsible for finance, personnel, property (facilities, grounds, IT and risk management) and operational policies. In his career Bill has also been a territory manager for one of the nation’s largest industrial supply organizations and led multiple business units for a San Diego hospital system.
Bill has been an active member of the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA) for 10 years. He served on national as well as local committees. Bill led the Greater San Diego Chapter of the NACBA serving as President, Vice President and President Emeritus for over 5 years.
Giving back to his community is extremely important to Bill. He serves as an active member on school boards (Site Council member for Poway High School and the Poway Unified School District) and as Clerk of the Course for Poway High School Track and Field. He has held leadership positions in a local Boy Scout troop and actively interviews potential Eagle Scout candidates each month as part of the Eagle Board of Review team for the San Diego Imperial Council.
Mario Alesi
Mario, a licensed general contractor and former business owner, brings over 40 years of construction and management knowledge to Southern Cross Property Consultants. His project experience includes high rise apartments and condos, commercial buildings, one-of-a-kind custom homes, churches, tenant improvements, and renovations ranging in size from $500,000 – $9,000,000.
As Senior Project Manager, Mario’s strengths include expediting multiple contractors, being highly detail oriented, and keeping projects on schedule and under budget. His focus is always on quality, safety, personalized customer service, and above all complete customer satisfaction.
Joe Chisholm
Joe is an Assistant Project Manager for Southern Cross Property Consultants. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Woodbury University and is currently working to fulfill requirements for becoming a licensed Architect in the State of California. He has extensive experience working with many design programs to create vignettes and as-built drawings for clients, in addition to working with Senior Project Management staff.
Prior to joining Southern Cross, Joe worked with a Construction Project Management company that created construction schedules and offered training in scheduling programs like Oracle Primavera P6, Primavera SureTrack, and Microsoft Project. He recently received certification in Construction Quality Management from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and is currently pursuing certification as a Construction Documents Technologist from the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
Emily Dolton
Emily is an accomplished muralist and color consultant who maintains her own business (Inside Emily Dolton’s Head) working with private homeowners, while also working with Southern Cross Property Consultants. Emily allows us to provide in-house consulting for color coordination, material selections and finishes, and space planning for our clients. Associates
In addition to our staff, Southern Cross Property Consultants maintains a network of associates with expertise in architecture, engineering, lending and financing, liturgical design, lighting design, audio/visual consulting, roof consulting, and numerous construction and maintenance trades.
